.NET is Microsoft’s platform for building backends and APIs. It’s the engine behind the applications our clients work with: fast, secure and built to scale. The backend is the part users never see, but it determines whether your software is dependable.

Why .NET?

When should you choose .NET?

.NET is the obvious choice when reliability and longevity matter more than throwing something together quickly: for software that business processes depend on, that holds sensitive data, or that other systems connect to. If your organisation already runs Microsoft technology such as SQL Server, Active Directory or Azure, .NET fits in seamlessly.

For a simple website without login or data processing, a backend is unnecessary — a static site with Astro will do.

What we use .NET for

We build the API backends that tie everything together: the layer that handles business logic, validates data and communicates with your database. That covers new APIs for greenfield projects, but equally integrations that expose existing systems securely to web and mobile apps.

For Avondwinkel Nijmegen we built the .NET API that feeds the Flutter app from a SQL Server database.

How .NET works with the rest of the stack

.NET sits at the centre of our stack. At the front, Angular for web and Flutter for mobile connect to it; at the back, SQL Server or PostgreSQL handle storage. Because both frontends use the same API, new functionality only has to be built once.

Maintenance and longevity

Microsoft supports each LTS version of .NET for three years. We keep your backend within that support window as part of maintenance and further development — which keeps upgrading a routine job instead of a migration project.
